Dads For Life
Our Family Matters coordinator Mrs Marilyn Kang, who is also a member of the PCC, together with Mrs Monica Phua organised a meaningful event for our pupils and their fathers. The Temasek Primary Dads for Life event was organized on Friday, 11 March 2016, for 40 Dads and children to S.E.A. Aquarium, RWS, for a specially curated tour of Asia's largest aquarium, home to more than 100,000 marine animals. The mariners gave the Dads and children alike a comprehensive coverage of the characteristics, habitats and even peculiarities of the animals on display. This Dads for Life activity, fully sponsored by Ministry of Social and Family development, hopes to inspire, mobilize and involve fathers to become good influencers in their children’s lives for life.
“The Dads for Life event has made me bond even more closely with Rachel. We were talking together and discussing so much. I was trying to answer all her curious questions about the marine creatures we saw.
We walked hand in hand throughout the guided tour of 90 minutes. I have never held her hand for such a long time. It was a true bonding session over time and communication. We feel much closer with one another after the trip.”
Allan Tan, dad of Rachel Tan (P3D)
